The Grand Trunk Pacific announced a new summer train service starting June 1 between Winnipeg and Edmonton. Travel time drops from 30 to 28 hours, with many towns restored as stops. The service will be two hours faster and operate as the Daily Limited.
Local note mentions Harry Stainsby resuming residence here for a period after last summer’s run. Household movements include Lyle Cleghorn visiting Mrs Cleghorn, now staying with her mother Mrs Selwood on the home farm. Mrs Park arrives from the old country to reside at the vicarage.
Rev W A Fyles delivered a lantern lecture at Holy Trinity Church on Friday night about the Early History of the Church of England. About sixty attendees viewed sixty views, with Fyles tracing the church from its inception to modern cathedrals and ruins, in a thoroughly enjoyed talk.
For Dominion Day July 1 the Canadian Pacific Railway will sell tickets between all stations Port Arthur and West at single fare plus one third for round trip. Tickets on sale daily June 29 to July 1 inclusive return valid until July 4, 1911.
In Minerva a popular resident Chester Selwood drowned in the Assinthoine River while swimming with friends. Tom Taylor dived to aid him but could not save Selwood as the river ran high and fast. Divers from International Harvester worked to recover the body as the family learns of the tragedy. The community extends sympathy to the bereaved family.
An old advertisement asserts relief from throat and chest ailments with Chamber slain’s Cough Remedy. It claims soothing effects and healing benefits, promoting availability through dealers nationwide.
Old timers from all corners of the municipality gather at Steuart's Bluff for a day of picnicking and reunion. Committees in charge are praised for preparations and the event aims to provide a hearty, enjoyable day of sport and fellowship with many of the district's oldest settlers in attendance.
Frank and Wil Cullen and Walker Allenby joined with Hamiota footballers in a Monday match against Minnedosa. A quintet of Oddfellows attended the memorial parade at Hamiota Sunday. Mr and Mrs Russell Warren of Crandell visit relatives Mr and Mrs J Warren this week.

Blaris and Miniota met in a five inning friendly at Blaris on Friday evening. H Harrison favored Miniota with several passes while a triple play by Topping and Tench stood out. Ro Campbell aided Winris team as rain limited attendance. return game expected.

Rapid City council approved buying a town flag. a prior motion was lost. Born to Mr and Mrs Charles Spencer on the 7th 1911 a son.
The amalgamated Sunday School Picnic will be held at Steuart's Bluff on Wednesday June 28. The basket picnic event involves all Sunday schools with committees named for sports grounds tables assistants teams and booths. Sports E Ayers B Schofield G Rowan W Bourns and others are listed for roles.
Fast horses are booked for a July Fourth track meet in Miniota. The event features top sprinters, a new grandstand, and concurrent construction of a baseball diamond near the football grounds. Local residents are urged to attend on Tuesday July Fourth.
Mr Hallett of the Railway Accident Insurance Company tours the district praising the area. Andrew Manson of Strathclair takes possession of A Ross & Co estate with stocktaking underway. An upcoming Agricultural Show on August 1 invites entries while a new Miniota railway timetable lists daily departures to Brandon.
