Municipal School Board Meeting June 1967 Minutes

The Municipal School Board met June 13 1967 in Municipal Wall Minsota with most members present chaired by Llroyd Irwin. Reports covered enrolment finances and negotiations with the Teachers Society including salary scales and increment structure for Class I and II. several property and transport arrangements were approved. school opening and closing dates for 1967 1968 were set. a resident was offered sale of property for $1 subject to title costs. transport committee to address road questions. and April May 1967 cheque totals were approved before adjournment.

Miniota U C W held a joint June meeting with guest Surinder Mohan Singh a Sikh teacher from Amritsar India invited by Mrs F Rowan who spoke at length about his religion He wears a turban and identifies with high standards and belief in a Supreme Being The Holy Trinity W A attended along with opening worship by Mrs Wes McKenzie and business brief by Mrs A Armitage Tea time questions followed.

Birdtail River School Division holds June 1967 regular meeting

Birdtail River School Division No 38 trustees met in Shoal Lake on June 9 1967 at 8 00 p m. Present were Rankin Sateen Seep Rapley Ran Seenesaat Morris Bueshau and Hart. Topics included correspondence on trade schools teacher training new science courses IPS instructors and building officials training, approval of minutes from June 1, 1967, payment of caretakers seminars expenses, $10 per student aid for United Nations Seminar attendees, approval of Financial Statement No 5/67, acceptance of agreement with Manitoba Teachers Society, hiring Mrs tele Ya Grade TX at Fox Warren, and adjourning to June 20.

Miniota Riding Club Re organizes For 67

The Miniota Riding Club reorganized on June 1 with officers elected including President Wilson Haines and Secretary Mrs. E. Gilchrist. A pony ride on June 11 drew 32 horses for barrel and pole bending events ending in a Grand March. The second meet on June 14 saw 28 horses compete in similar events, with another meet planned for June 21 at the Sports grounds. A May 30 hockey banquet in the rink waiting room served turkey supper and was sponsored by Arnie Andrews Coke Argue Murray Peel Vern Lockhart and Red Steuart for about thirty boys ages 13 and under.
