Healy Trinity Church Reopens with Parade and Sermon

On Sunday last Healy Trinity Church reopened with a 1 PM service. The Sons of England lodge held their annual parade with about 35 members. A large crowd heard Kew Park, appointed to the parish, preach an eloquent sermon with praise for the 8.C.E. lodge, though the choir was absent.

The Miniota Mités visited Rose Lea Friday evening for a district friendly against the Pigskin chasers. Play opened around 7 30 with a tightly fought match producing only one goal. Afterward the ladies served lunch and a dance followed.

Farmers Meet at Miniota Hall June Sixth

A vital meeting for farmers and district residents will be held at Miniota Hall Monday June 6 at 8 p m under the Miniota Agricultural Society. James Murray of Brandon Experimental Farm and Mr MacGregor of Manitou will speak on growing grasses and clovers and cultivating soil to conserve moisture. All are invited.

Two Creeks and Westhall Clash in Fast Elgin Cricket

The match at Elgin on a Tuesday produced a dramatic chase as Jas Woods took 8 for 1 and Two Creeks were bowled out for 18. Westhall replied 8 for 2, then 39 all out. Two Creeks’ second innings totaled 25. Westhall reached the target with 2 wickets down. The overall pace was described as the fastest wicket seen. A return at Virden is set for June 23rd.
