Winnipeg health report shows measles down in June with 334 cases, 309 in Winnipeg. Rubella rises to 98. Hepatitis, streptococcal sore throat declines. 3 post exposure rabies treatments noted after rabid skunk reports in Ellice, Grey and Tache. More than half of June measles cases are in ages 5-9 and 10-14.
Education Minister Keith Cosens announced the private sector youth employment program in Manitoba created 4,871 jobs for ages 16 to 24 from May 1 to Oct 27. Rural and northern areas produced 3,171 positions, Winnipeg 1,700, with construction and laboring the largest categories. The deadline for applications was July 7.
