R Penelton has been a patient in Hamiota Hospital. Mrs Chas Ellerington underwent an operation there last week. Third Polio injections to be given at Miniota United Church basement on Thursday Jan 23 from 9 30 to 11 30 am. Brodie Currie and his mother left to spend winter with Mr and Mrs Les Currie at Swan River, accompanied by Chris Ellerington. The 4 H Potato Club met at the home of Mr and Mrs Mat in Powell and plans were made to enter the amateur contest at McConnell. Square dancing enjoyed. I V Sparks unable to undergo scheduled operations in Deer Lodge Hospital returned home Monday and will receive treatment. Mrs Sparks accompanied him. Curling guest games featured W Mossops rink versus Doug Leland Ar ror River with Mossop winning, Harold Forsyth versus G Johnson Crandall with Crandall winning, Archie Gilchrist over W Preston Beulah. Reynolds and Goodmanson rinks defeated at Beulah and Crandall. Lindley Hodnett over Cowley Webster Two Creeks. J W Horner chaired a village meeting Wednesday afternoon on bringing natural gas to homes and businesses. Meeting well attended. W A Barrett secretary. G A Cassidy R T Anderson and Mr Ferris of Portage la Prairie spoke. Plan to secure sixty signers to make gas project economical. estimates to be obtained for conversion costs. A further meeting will be held later.

Holy Trinity Church Holds Annual Congregational Meeting
Rev. W. H. Gregory presided as Holy Trinity church met Sunday evening. Reports by Mrs. Les Horner showed all obligations met and materials on hand to install a new ceiling. Officers elected included W. J. Mossop as People's Warden and Vestry Clerk, with Chris Ellerington, R. Howard, C. H. Webster, L. Walker, Roy Leland, L. Horner among the Vestry and auditors R. Howard and W. J. Mossop. Delegates to Synod were Chris Ellerington and R. Howard with alternate delegates W. J. Collier and Roy Lelond.

Mrs M Kelly Celebrates 90th Birthday in Manitoba
Mrs M Kelly marked her 90th birthday at home in town on January 12. She hosted twenty six guests and received a bouquet from Isabella W Ll and many gifts and cards from friends. She moved from Ontario in 1891 to the Harding district then Isabella, later Miniota, and has five daughters, thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Her son Cecil died in 1936. She left Tuesday to spend the winter with daughter Edith Wardell in Wellwood.

The annual meeting of the United Church W A W M S was held at Mrs. A M Watts home with Rev. A M Watts installing officers including President Mrs C Long and Treasurer Mrs M McKenzie. Discussions covered youth education in Japan and attitudes toward other races in Canada. Twenty four members attended and donations were voted to various causes.
