Born at Brandon General Hospital on January 10 to Mr and Mrs Jack Meyers a son named David Arthur. A trailer home fire north of George Angell's butcher shop destroyed the Pidluberg residence but insured contents were partly salvaged and the family is staying with relatives. Miniota Lodge Hosts One Day Bonspiel With Rink Renovation
The Miniota Par issimo Lodge No. 76 invited 1.0.0-F lodges from surrounding districts to a January 10 bonspiel. The new enlarged Miniota Rink waiting room roof hosted its season opener. Twelve rinks competed with Lenore and Decker winning the Challenge, Miniota and Hamiota taking the Friendship event, and a large turnout aided by a free meal service from local volunteers.

Ladies W A Meeting Plans Diocesan Event And Bazaar
Mrs Les Horner hosted Holy Trinity W A with Mrs M Curry presiding as the group reviewed a Japan study and learned of the New Life Sanitorium at Obuse. Mrs W C Barrett outlined Diocesan dates in Brandon March 13 and 14. Committees were formed for the World Day of Prayer April 5 and spring events. Donations were voted to the church Vestry Memorial Camp and Bishop’s Emergency Fund with plans for a toilet article shower for the McKay Indian School in March.
