A letter of thanks for the Christmas base to Robert son House was read at a Mission Band meeting. Plans to collect used Christmas cards for Children’s Hospitals and to back the March of Dimes campaign were made. New officers were installed by Mrs. F. Rowan with Ken Bryant as president and Barbara Craig as World Friends leader. The Wynona Ladies Group met at Mrs. J. Mc Gibney’s with nine present. Mrs. J. Cook was re elected president and Mrs. W. Leary secretary. Red Cross sewing and knitting were distributed. $25 was voted to the Salvation Army. Mrs. J. McGibney and Mrs. W. Leary won contests. lunch was provided by several members. Next meeting at Mrs. J. Stamford’s home.
Mrs Wm Wallace a pioneer of Palmerston district died January 21 at her daughter’s Victoria B C She was born September 26 1868 in New Bridge Ontario married William Wallace in 1886 and helped build Palmerston church The family later lived in Crandall and Arrow River Survived by three sons Perry Spencer Sam and Mrs Robt Pearce Several siblings grandchildren and great grandchildren Funeral held January 27 at Crandall United Church with Rev A Friebert and Rev K Moffatt The service ended at Arrow River Cemetery with grandsons and nephews as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers named.
