A Wednesday Bingo night drew many to the Bir tle event with a 540 dollar money jackpot. A Thursday January 14 cribbage tournament at the Community Centre saw Percy Watts and Birdie Thompson share first and second after an undefeated run, with Mrs. R. Deitch in Isabella third. Colin Cory and brother Henry visited the George Bruce home last week. Sympathy extends to the Cory family as their father died in Brandon on January 9. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Collier spent the past month with Murray and family in Thunder Bay and will visit their Winnipeg granddaughter on the way home. Johnny Stowe is the Community rink caretaker. Mrs. Murray Peel is home after hospital stay in Birtle. Rinks led by Mildred Atwood and Lil Horner join the Birtle Ladies’ banquet this week.

School Corner Recaps Plays and Season Transitions
On January 13 grade seven students staged plays from their drama book and the school plans to view the winning production later. With volleyball finished, students are practicing for basketball tournaments.
