Miniota UCW Holds Annual Meeting and Officers Named
The Miniota United Church Women met in the Sunday School room on Tuesday January 7 with Mrs E L Reynolds chairing. Reports showed 36 members 21 evening 15 afternoon. 40 hospital gifts and 48 cards were sent. Four delegates were chosen to attend the February 24 meeting in Hamiota. thanks were given to retiring officers at adjournment.

Mrs Harriet Bridge aged 87 widow of Melville J Bridge died December 31 1963 at Assiniboine Hospital Brandon She was born in Palmerston Ontario moved west at nine and farmed Isabella before retiring to Hamiota in 1943 She leaves a son Merlyn Lavina and two daughters Ethel Brandon and Eileen Killarney plus nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren Funeral services were held January 3 at McConnells Parlors Hamiota with Rev Baycroft officiating Interment followed credits Pallbearers listed.

Annual School Meeting and Community Events noted
Crandall plans a school meeting January 17 in the auditorium and a community rink event January 20 at the busy town corner. Mrs. Groves hosts a birthday dinner in Hamiota with 11 guests. A Fertile station moved to Crandall to replace the sold one. Red Cross knitting and sewing for children available via Mrs Schoch. Hamiota Juveniles defeat Crandall All Stars 6 to 4.

Decker Couple Honored on 50th Wedding Anniversary
