Miniota Opens $120,000 Motor Hotel with 75 beds, 38-seat restaurant
The New Miniota Motor Hotel, built at over $120,000 on 8000 sq ft, opened with ribbon cutting by Morris McGregor M L A for Virden. The two-story complex features six modern units, inside and outside entrances, seating for 75 in rooms and 38 in the restaurant, welcoming Joe Chubaty Anne Alex and Joe Jr Dmytren to Miniota.

Construction Industry Warned On Fair Wage
Labour and management groups were told that even if Manitoba legislation to replace the Fair Wage Act is introduced it cannot become operative before the 1963 64 wage schedule expires on April 30. The current fair wage board must begin its annual review and prepare new schedules to take effect May 1. February 15 is the filing deadline for adjustments to be reflected in 1964 65 schedules.

Crandall residents Mr. and Mrs. S. Coupe and sons traveled to Oakville for New Year. The HEC held a toboggan party on Sunday December 29 where two girls Sandra and Joyce Rivers were injured when their toboggan hit a stone. Sandra suffered a broken nose and Joyce an injured back. Mr. Jim Craig of Selkirk is holidaying with his uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Gray. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Johnston were mentioned in the report.
Home Economics Club Holds Third Meeting at Mrs Leland’s
The Home Economics Club met January 3 at Mrs. Bill Leland’s with 10 members and 3 leaders. They planned to compete in the Annual 4H Amateur and discussed uniforms public speaking and demonstrations. Lunch was served. Several local residents visited relatives during the holidays and church events were noted.
