U C W Meet Crandall Christmas meeting review

The December U C W meeting in Crandall on December 14 drew 15 attendees including Rev and Mrs Don McNeill. Vel Doupe opened with a Christmas poem as the North Group offered worship and selections and Miss Ada Fleming led a prayer. Treasurer Ada Fleming reported 1367.69 on hand with 874.78 cleared from Smorgasboard and 800 donated to the church. Live-Love projects were chosen for Crandall and Winnipeg and Vancouver, with plans for Christmas trays for senior citizens. A Mizpah Benediction closed a festive luncheon hosted by the North Group.

Alfred Hearn dies after short illness in Cardale district

Alfred Hearn aged 67 11 months died December 15 1977 at Hamiota District Health Centre after a short illness He was born January 27 1910 in Antler North Dakota later moved to Minnedosa and then Cardale where he farmed from 1937 He leaves his wife Florence and a large family across Brandon Rivers Minnedosa and Edmonton Funeral service held December 19 1977 at Cardale United Church Interment at Marney Cemetery Honorary Pallbearers and pallbearers were named with ushers listed
