The Family Herald and Weekly Star reports steady circulation growth for Canada’s National Farm Magazine. The rural weekly offers farm news and entertaining reads with Women and Children sections and a special four year rate.
A funeral service for Mrs. E Sararas was held at Binsearth with interment in Arrow River cemetery. Born July 4 1855 in Gloucestershire England she immigrated to Canada in 1900 and lived in Arrow River before moving to Binscarth after her husband’s death in 1935. Survived by two daughters Mrs R A Peogelly and Mrs Clegg three sons Thomas Charles and Alfred.
The 1935 statistics show births 3h, marriages 13, deaths 16 compared with earlier years. Owing to illness E A Robinson could not return to Wynona after the holidays, with Miss A Pee substituting. The New Year brought dances and private house parties, and the Midiata Orchestra pleased attendees as noise makers spread at midnight.
The School Board met Thursday at R. E. Heise's with all members present. New trustees Henderson and Heise took oaths. 1936 chair Lindsay presided. committees were Finance Strachan Forster Lindsay Heise Sinclair Teach ers Henderson Miller Forster Finkbeiner Sinclair Transportation Pinkinber Bell Heyhoe Bonner Hyndman with various daily rate changes listed. A Glenlochar school resolution was rescinded to reopen discussion. The note recalls Miniota school on Pascoe farm opened January 6 1886 with trustees Lynch Clyde and W Taylor, first teacher D D Burke, and a list of early pupils and some deceased.
