Hi Hill visits son Carl in Plunkett Saskatchewan. E Dunlop of Winnipeg spent Christmas with Hedrett family. Eleie Barratt stays a week with sister in Rapid City.
The Miniota Junior hockey team played in the Oakner tournament with McConnell and Cran strong, yet fell 5-2 to Kenton in the final. Oak River failed to retain the McConnell Cup as Kerr and Spalding rinks won it on December 16. Community notices include church visits, annual meetings, and local residents spending holidays in Winnipeg and Brandon.
The Arrow River school board discussed accepting applications for van driving and scheduling interviews. Members paid tribute to retiring chairman Dr R K Chalmers and Trustee W H Miller and urged reconsideration of Glenbochar school closure at the next meeting on January 2 at R E Heise’s home.
