Manitobans Prepare Questions for Hees Trade Luncheon
Manitoba's industry and commerce department has received questions from provincial manufacturers ahead of a luncheon with Hon George Hees federal minister of trade and commerce scheduled for Friday at the Royal Alexandra Hotel. Minister Hon Gurney Evans said about 600 businessmen and manufacturers are expected, with many submitting inquiries in advance.

Motions covered appointing representatives of donor groups with voting rights, approving an $18.50 expense bill, sending thanks to H L McMillan for craftwork, organizing a June forget me not tea raffle, naming committee chairs for the home baking, and paying expenses for three delegates to a Portage La Prairie educational workshop. The group voted to rename the charter The Association for Retarded Children Virden and district Branch and planned outreach to Ham ilton area groups with speaker offers.

The Retarded Children Association held a January 25 1961 meeting at St Pauls United Church Virden. Mrs C Corey requested a volunteer to assist classroom activities and an education workshop was announced for February 17 18 in Portage la Prairie. A For Get Me Not Tea is planned for June in Virden. A reference library and tape recording library for parents was discussed. Transportation costs totaling 221 30 were reported. Eleanor Letcher speech therapist spoke on speech defects and role of parents as primary therapists. The meeting adjourned upon motion.
