Birdtail River Division Board Meets at Shoal Lake
The Birdtail River Division Board held a meeting at Shoal Lake on January 9 1963 at 8 p m with Trustees Stimpson Fulton Fraser Hunter and Rapley in attendance. Motions approved minutes from January 4 1963 and agreed to have the Staff Committee meet the Teachers Salary Negotiation Committee on January 15 to begin salary talks. A plan was set to study procedure changes and to organize another round of Divisional exams for Christmas 1963. Principals Tibbatts Morrison and Tesarki were named as their representatives on the committee with Board members to be appointed at the next regular meeting. The board adjourned to the call of the chair and later met in committee with principals to discuss issues. Efforts on sports trophies and flashers for scholastic and athletic achievement were noted for further discussion. Vaulting boxes and mats were also discussed. Divisional exam ideas were debated and a three teacher committee plus Inspector Funk and two Board members was formed.

Born Fox Grove Farm Beckenham Kent 1884 came to Canada 1887. married M liss Little 1916. Survived by daughters Ruth Leland Mary Blackshaw Winnipeg and Virden and son Eric Winnipeg. six grandchildren. Renowned natural history collector with 1500 moths and butterflies.
