Miniota Ratepayers Elect New Village Board
The Miniota ratepayers held their annual meeting with a small turnout. W. J. Strachan was elected to the board for three years, joining P. C. Watts and J. W. Horner as secretary treasurer. W. A. Barrett remains Fire Chief with a brigade including Charles Watts, P. Dales, E. Peterson, J. Wiens, W. Tomiski, and W. J. Strachan. the brigade is insured against accidents.

Miniota WI Meets at Community Centre February 8
The Miniota Women’s Institute held a meeting at the Community Centre with 12 members and one visitor. Mrs. Goodwin presided as reports covered St Johns Ambulance postponement to fall and committees for Home Grounds and Bonspiel lunches. Speakers Mrs. Cochran and Rev Baycroft discussed Civil Defence and emergency protection.

Beattie Couple Celebrates 50th Anniversary in Foxwarren
Mr and Mrs H Beattie celebrated a half century of marriage at their Foxwarren home on February 5th with more than 70 guests. They wed in Miniota on February 5 1913. Their daughter Mrs Hodgson and six grandchildren survive.
