Tickets are 50 cents per card with no limit on cards. Players can win a prize of 2000 dollars and the game is hosted through the local newspaper setup at Barrett's Store and Murphy's Café.
Mrs Roy Leland and Miss Gail Topps visited in Winnipeg. Holy Trinity W A realized 152 dollars at a bazaar held last Tuesday. Cub Pack records eleven bows and five meetings. Various notices mention Misericordia Hospital in Winnipeg and other local hospitals. A Christmas Family Service is planned for Miniota United Church on Christmas Eve at 8 p.m. The W A W M S Christmas meeting is set for December 18 at 2 p.m. at Mrs Long’s home with stockings to be donated.
The Boy Scouts held five meetings in Holy Trinity basement with 24 boys enrolled and four patrols led by Ronnie Bryant Gary McKinnon Wayne Powell Jack Spalding. They study Tenderfoot work, First Aid, knots and Union Jack. December 10 talk by Mrs. C Ratai. Minota 4 H Potato Club reorganized at L Craig home with eight members and officers including Powell and Kostuk. plans for Amateur Night at Isabella and March of Dimes drive.
Members of the CGIT led a Vesper Service at Miniatar United Church on Sunday evening under Mrs. A. M. Watts. Readers included Helen Long and others. talk by Joan Peel. Candlelighting by Heat her Spalding and others. music directed by Mrs. A. Spalding featured Lo, How a Rose and The Coventry Carol. Programs by Linda Mossop and Anne Craig. Offertory by Linda Leland and Doreen McCaw. Friday roll call noted with a shut-in treat under Mrs. C. W. Ellerington.
The W.M.S. noted press mentions in the Manitoba Journal and discussed January program on proposed large school districts. Mrs. F. Rowan received a Federated pin for ten years with the local Institute. Three new brides were welcomed with gifts. Carol singing and Amahl recording followed. Lunch was served by several members.
The Drama Club held a successful silver tea and home cooking sale at Mrs. A Adams home on Friday afternoon. The Bible Study Class finished seven weekly meetings at Mrs. J T Finkbeiner’s home with Rev. A M Watts facilitation. After nine weeks of Communicate class Janet White Bill White and Henry Martin were received by baptism and Sheila Attwood Noreen Adams Margaret Ariss Jeanette Wright Norman Harrison Ken Stewart and Bert Webb were confirmed at Sunday service with the Lord's Supper.
Mrs Al Clark presided and led discussions on disposal of used clothing and sending sewing material to Korea with items to be brought to the next meeting. Mrs Coxworth read the supply letter seeking Christmas gifts for children and one quilt.
