Miniota hockey team loses to Kenton in Kenton tournament

Melville Visitors and RCMP Officer Needing Details
Mr and Mrs J McDonald of Melville visited relatives in town and district last week. They were joined by Mrs W Elliott who will visit for a time. Mike Syron of the RCMP is stationed at Hamiota moving from Bois Sevain and received many fine gifts. reports say he was well liked and made many friends.
Youth Training School at Virden
A youth training school for young men aged 16 to 30 will be held in Virden from January 4 to March 17, 1939. Practical courses in Agriculture and Citizenship are offered with no tuition. Applications must reach Registrar J. K. Friesen by December 24 with two letters of recommendation. Board may cost up to $20 per month, with possible department contribution of up to half. The program offers educational and social advantages.

Miniota Team Visits Hamiota for Monday Hockey Match
The Miniota hockey team played in Hamiota on Monday night with the boys there. The visitors lost the game 4 to 35 in a high scoring contest.
