Weir Becomes Manitoba's Fifteenth Premier on Nov 30
Walter C. Weir was sworn in as Manitoba's fifteenth premier succeeding Duff Roblin who resigned after June 1958. At 38 he is the province's youngest post 1878, and will head the sixteenth administration. Weir, born January 7 1929 at High Bluff, formerly Minnedosa businessman and long time politician, has served as minister of municipal affairs and highways. He is married to Harriet Tommie Thompson with four children.

Birdtail River School Board endorses eleven Trustee plan and boundary study
Birdtail River Division No 38 trustees met November 29 1967 at Shoal Lake with Superintendent Davison and delegates from Shoal Lake Oakburn Elphinstone Strathclair and Newdale. They approved minutes correspondence and a plan to add eleven trustees, retroactive Steven Bunn payment, and funding for Trainable Retarded Children outside division while sending a citizen brief on a new school site to the Boundaries Commission and Building Projects Committee for study.

Hamiota Hospital District No. 7A Ladies Aid gathered Friday November 24 with Mrs. J Rankin presiding Thirteen districts represented. Treasurer reported bank balance 882 79 last month receipts 993 84 expenditures 419 30 leaving 574 52. Christmas novelties were shown for patient trays. Statistical report noted 55 92 from old rags sale for dusters. Dr Ed Hudson spoke on education drugs cancer tuberculosis and Christmas seals plus medicare and the senior citizens home A student dentist visited hospital. Nominating committee presented new officers retiring president Mrs Rankin and President Mrs Wm Headley 1st Vice Pres Mrs A Wiltsey Cardale 2nd Vice Pres Mrs Bob Sunley Treasurer Mrs B A Dixon Buying committee Mrs H Hunter Public relations Mrs G Allan A vote of thanks to Mrs Dixon for service There will be no December meeting Officers gave annual reports Meeting closed with Mispah Benediction
