Farm Manager Course Offered At Miniota This Winter
Miniota hosts a Farm Manager course beginning mid November and running 18 weeks. Applicants, selected by local committee and Canada Manpower, must submit an Agricultural Representative application. Program targets young farmers with potential for viable commercial farming. Manpower provides financial aid. Also notes forage seed orders under Manitoba policy at $2.00 per acre, deadline November 13, and shelterbelt tree orders through Agricultural Representatives from Indian Head and Hadashville. Keep weed control through August 15 for existing shelterbelts. new growth after August 15 should be left to aid snow retention.

Mrs Myrtle Hemphill spent a week in Winnipeg visiting Reg Stafford and Philip Norman of Piney while Mrs L Henderson visited her son-in-law and daughter the Boys at Oak Lake. Miss Jean Morrice of Winnipeg weekended with her mother as Mrs Hill visited the Kenton home of her son-in-law Stan Gould. Visitors to Gordon Emerson included Marjorie Emerson and Yorkton relatives. Nearby arrangements featured Mrs C Catto’s hospital stay after a tumble and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Hamiota to Host Seven Tournament Encounters
Hamiota helps host the Canadian Senior Men's Baseball Championships August 28 to 31 at Brandon Souris and Hamiota with the Brandon Kinsmen Club as official hosts. Volunteers are sought for four Friday game booths led by Lena Robinson, plus parking and diamond prep. Sunday's schedule features Ontario Saskatchewan Prince Edward Island Alberta and Manitoba All Stars.
