The Municipal School Board met August 2 1967 at the Municipal Office Minnesota with most members present. Actions included adopting June minutes approving transportation rates for 1967 68, permitting use of Minitoa teacherage for Kindergarten, approving June payroll cheques 5540 5657 totaling 14202 51, authorizing payment to E Southam 4925 for road contract balance, approving a drainage project diverting water to Arrow River Creek, compensation for borrow pits and by law 1557 and 1558 readings, approving cheques 14354 14403 for 28325 53, and adjournment.

Birdtail River School Board weighs eastern division school site
Birdtail River School Division No 38 held a regular meeting at Shoal Lake on Tuesday August 1 1967 with trustees Rankin Stimpson Fulton Selby Rapley and Randell plus Superintendent Wim C Davison and Inspector Funk. They adopted July 27 minutes and urged the Boundaries Commission to review division boundaries and propose eastern half school sites to ensure equal opportunity, noting a possible split into east and west halves and the need for a center of about 400 students for new courses. The board set future meetings for August 3 and August 10 and spent much of the session preparing a briefing for the commission.

Bates and Rudd United in Marriage at Sturgeon Creek
Thomas Edward Bates and Lorraine Alice Rudd were married August 5 at Sturgeon Creek United Church St. James in a double ring ceremony.
