MacDonald family holds reunion across North America
The MacDonalds, over ninety members, gathered in Saskatoon area August 5 and 6 for their first reunion. Organizers Mr. and Mrs. Barrett welcomed descendants from San Diego Chicago Vancouver Winnipeg Calgary Edmonton Fairview Pembroke Penticton Washington DC and more. Events included a parish hall buffet with bagpipes, a Forestry Farm gathering with Bonnie Blue Bells Pipe Band, and a barbecue dinner.

Mrs Robert Peel dies at 91 in Miniota area
Funeral services for Mrs. Robert Peel of Miniota were held at Miniota United Church on August 12 after her death August 9 in Hamiota Hospital. Born January 30, 1876 in Dumfries Scotland, she moved to Miniota in 1899, married Robert Peel in 1900, and the couple farmed here until retiring in 1944. She was predeceased by a son in 1918 and her husband in 1957, survived by three sons, two daughters, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
