Government Advances Freeway Plan Through Legislature

The Manitoba government moved a bill to designate highways as freeways and regulate access, after second reading and referral to law amendments. The Highway Needs Report urged urgent action to create controlled access radiating from Winnipeg with limited pre-1980 development and upgrades to meet future needs.

Mrs Coburn and Mrs Barnes send wishes for a speedy recovery from Winnipeg General Hospital. Miss W Bergman and Mrs Coburn enjoyed a few days in Winnipeg last week. Mrs Hyndman and Janice of Rivers visited with the Hazelwoods. Mr and Mrs M Grant of Winnipeg, en route home from Invermere, called on the Hyndmans. Pot Luck supper hosted by the W A drew an excellent meal and good time.
