Mr and Mrs T Rittaler and Mrs A Adams visited Regina last Wednesday. Brandon guests of Mrs E Martin include Mr and Mrs Ward Collyer and family. W L April meeting featured a poem Count Your Joys and the Creed. Roll Call offered a supper dish recipe. Mrs J E Finkbeiner read resolutions for the Provincial gene. The History Committee reported progress. Mrs J T Finkbeiner gave Hospital Aid report and F W ILC item. Mrs G Higgins of Decker spoke on a Family Course at Brandon Homemaking School covering cooking diet fashion makeup and home beautifying. Delicious casserole lunch served by Mrs J Coxworth Mrs J E Finkbeiner and Mrs L Wright. Annual Community Evening to raise United Appeals funds held at the Community Centre with candy stall fish pond Bingo and an Auction. Proceeds over 125 will aid Cancer Research Heart Fund March of Dimes Arthritis and Rheumatism and the Blind Appeals.

Border marker to mark Manitoba Saskatchewan boundary
A special 30 inch aluminum marker left Winnipeg March 27 to mark the line where Manitoba and Saskatchewan bisect the Northwest Territories. The marker will be installed about April 8 by a 20 man two province survey crew. The commission reports extreme cold but productive work with bronze border posts set roughly every mile.

Federal loan approved for Hamiota seniors housing project
A $52,000 federal loan for 10 low rental units in Hamiota Manitoba was announced by MP Nicholas Mandziuk on behalf of Minister David Walker. The Lions Club of Hamiota sponsors Hamiota Senior Citizens Park Residences Limited. Construction costs include a provincial grant of $15,602. The one storey building on Allen Ave will include four bachelor and six one bedroom apartments with rents of 42.50 and 52.00 respectively and income limits for tenants.
