Local events include cattle show in Regina, baptisms, and two rounds of Telephone Whist with district winners listed. Community members also attended WI meetings, district board events in Hamiota, and multiple funerals in Welwyn Weyburn Binscarth Minnedosa and surrounding areas.
A hurried trip from the west led by Mrs. John Wiggins and Mr. Ronald Simpson with Yvonne Hyndman to Virden and Yvonne s home. The group included Mrs. E Hynd mani Mr Cliff Huffman of Lexie Sask Mrs Hayward of Turtleford Sask sister of Mrs Rollie Clegg Everett Johnston brother of Mrs Clegg of Love Sask and his daughter Kathryne of Regina.
Mrs. T Grainger a patient in Birtle hospital. Wilfred Lindenback visiting home and planning a Winnipeg trip with Arlene on Friday. Farmers Union held first drive and dance at Bell Community Hall. Beulah Orchestra provided music. Beulah Hockey team played Birtle. 12 and under won, 16 and under lost. Red Cross donations total 200 dollars plus 12 in memory of T R Stretton.
Crandall Mr E Barnes and Mr C F Lee are patients in Hamiota Hospital and receive best wishes for a speedy recovery. Mrs Argue of Elgin spent last week with Mr and Mrs C Dickey.
Local and General Miss Erma Jolley and Mr. Bob Deveson of Shoal Lake were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Jolley. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Nash on the birth of a son in Hamiota Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Baskier and Terry spent a few days visiting Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Ellerington. A hearty welcome to Mr. and Mrs. Tom Rollo and family who have taken up residence in the old Post Office.

Ray Jauch longtime Blue Bomber football figure becomes Director of Physical Education at United College effective September 1. The Board of Regents approved the appointment and will fund a plan allowing him to continue playing for the Bombers. Jauch, 22, born in Sublette Illinois, joined the University of Iowa in 1956 and played there four years before joining Winnipeg’s team in 1960.
