Miners strike at Kennedy mine halts work on Oldenberg farm

Thirty two men quit and idle Tuesday while five or six landers stayed in. The strike follows a failed wage demand from the Kennedy mine owners. Wages cited were 1.85 dollars daily in dry digging and 1.50 in wet. Plant closure seems likely if demands are not met. July 31. Galena Gazette mentions local notices and community notes.
