Wild Goose Chase Reunites Lost Check After Years

The Silver City Times recounts a quirky tale in which John Pullman received a letter from Hermitage Missouri with a key ring check lost seven to eight years ago. A wild goose, killed near Missouri, had swallowed the check and carried it in its stomach until found by W. Steelman who returned it to the owner. The check bears Pullman’s name and address on one side and the 1. 0. C. F. emblem on the other. Pullman cannot recall where he lost it, but guesses a hunting trip long ago. The misadventure suggests the goose’s travels across northern seas and southern landscapes.
