The editor and family were treated by Mrs. Walt Jamison, receiving two dressed rabbits.

The 62 acre Capitol extension tract will become a state park as 16 departments move from the old Irving school building, which now houses the food and dairy commissioner, state commerce council, fire marshal, board of education, inspectors and other state offices. A new tunnel will connect heating plants, allowing current facilities to be removed this summer. Benson resigns to head the Boys and Girls Achievement Bureau for ten states at a $10,000 yearly salary. John Simpson leaves for Minnesota to supervise a major fair, earning $10,000 yearly. William West, born 1832, once Ames mayor and early council educator, dies at Rock Rapids after moving from Council Bluffs to Ames during college construction.
