Malvern Claims Southwest Town Basketball Title
Malvern high school boys team defeated Council Bluffs 45 to 2 on Wednesday and defeated Tabor College 85 to 18 on Friday to claim the championship. In Friday’s game the Malvern girls lost to Tabor College 10 to 6, highlighting a decisive swing in the season.

Silver Creek Ditch Plan Draws 21 to 2 Vote Against
A Malvern meeting reviewed Engineer Dean's cost estimate for a 65 mile ditch project to straighten Silver Creek. The proposal would cost about $10,000 and affect around 24,000 acres. The ditch would be 24 feet wide at the top and 12 feet at the bottom, passing mostly through timber. Arno Schaller is credited with starting the agitation.
