Methodist Meetings Close at Glenwood Church

A pair of evangelistic meetings at Glenwood Methodist Church concluded Sunday night. The revival brought numerous additions and many attendees decided to live a Christian life. Rev. Alsey R. Grant of Manilla aided Pastor Graves with plain sermons and Southern background. The male quartet, C. R. Buttington, L. A. Bower, Rev. W. N. Graves and Everett Graves, provided a notable musical feature.

Uniquely Cooked Dinner at Deupree Home

Mr and Mrs Mose T Deupree entertained guests at their Glenwood area home last Thursday. The dinner was cooked over a fire built from an old log lingering on the Deupree property for over 25 years, the last remnant of a log house that stood nearby. The log house reportedly sheltered Mills County’s first white child born over sixty years ago, John Sivers now of Boulder Colorado, brother of Ted and Matt Sivers of Glenwood.
