Iurst and Stern Union Ties in Omecha Ceremony

Hurst-Stern Mose Iurst and Miss Emma Stern wed in Omecha yesterday. The bride is sister of Mrs. Sam Finkenstein formerly of Glenwood and recently arrived from the old country. They will reside in Creston where Mr. Hurst runs a second hand store like his Glenwood father's shop.

Tabor teams win both games in Glenwood double header

A Friday night basketball double header at the old Baptist church in Glenwood featured Tabor High School boys and girls facing Glenwood schools. The boys won 40 to 16 and the girls won 15 to 8, marking victories for Tabor in both contests.

Tuberculosis Meeting Draws Unusually Large Glanwood Attendance

One of the most interesting church meetings in Glanwood in a long time occurred Sunday night December 14 at the Congregational church. All churches awaited the service and the attendance was unusually large. The meeting was presided over by Rev. Win Stevenson of the M. B. church. Rev. Hageman of the Bap.

Judson Re-elected Master at State Grange Meeting

Judson of Balfour was re-elected Master of the State Grange for another year at the Cedar Rapids gathering. Mills County members filled posts including L. J. Richardson as Assistant Steward and Mrs. Ida Judson as Ceres. The executive committee includes the president, overseer, treasurer and secretary. Mr. Judson and his wife will be delegates to the national Grange.

Tomas Rico Sentenced for Attempted Bodily Injury in Malvern

Tomas Rico, a Mexican, was sentenced to five years at the Anamosa Reformatory after a September term court trial for attempting to do great bodily injury in Malvern. He was first tried for insanity, then for the offense. Governor Clark suspended the sentence on Bees, with no reason noted.

Bazaar and Market at Daniel Bros. display window

The Philathean class of the Congregational Sunday school will hold a bazaar and market Saturday, Dec. 20, in the display window of the Daniel Bros. store. There will be handmade articles for Christmas gifts, home cooking for the Sunday dinner, and Navajo rugs from the New Mexico Indian reservation.
