Trustee Prisoner Escapes From Local Reformatory
Joseph Smorrow, 27, a trustee at the local prison, escaped last Friday afternoon during brush clearing in the west corner. He climbed a wire fence near Ponty Pool road and fled into the bush. Guard Kenneth Morden raised the alarm as a search began, but Smorrow remains at large. he had about a week left on a six month sentence for drunkenness.
