Anniversary Sunday at St Andrew's Church

On Sunday October 26 Anniversary Sunday was held at St Andrew's with strong congregations, fine flowers, and a near $1200 pledge. A polished program featured a male quartet Messrs Might Powell Ouellette and McMaster, a ladies double trio, and Rev H E Ashford as guest preacher. The service centered on The Unexpected Sequence from Acts 28:1-15.

Four Toronto farm commentators form CBC radio TV team

Durham 4-H Dairy Team Takes Second in Ontario

Durham County 4-H Dairy Calf Club Team placed second at the Inter-Club Competitions at Ontario Agricultural College on Oct 17 1958 with Donald Welsh scoring 492 of 520. Team members included Ronald Welsh Helen Strong Allan McCamus and others. Peterborough won with Barbara Mann and John Allin.

Leonard McNeil Lloyd Sutton Les Graham Don Graham and T W McCamus attended the Louada Manor Sale of Short horn cattle at Lakehurst, home of Bapton Constructor. The bull cost 50000 dollars in Scotland. Forty two heads sold for 13500 dollars with a top price of 13000 dollars for a 10 month old calf.

Sudden death of Lewis F Pudsey in 1958

Lewis Francis Pudsey, aged 55, died suddenly of a heart attack on Friday October 24 1958 in Millbrook after being a lifelong farmer in Cavan Township. He was the son of Mrs. William Pudsey and husband of Alma Bristow, with two sisters living in Peterborough and Port Hope. The funeral was extensively attended from J. W. Hawley chapel.
