Obituary of William Harvey Wood in Ida service

A large gathering attended the funeral service for W. Harvey Wood at Haw Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon October 10 conducted by Rev. G. Mead of Bethany. He was in his seventy first year and survived by two brothers Wilbert and Richard with a sister Mildred predeceased him. Burial was in St. Johns Cemetery Ida.

Seen and Heard On King Street During The Week

A small yellow kitten attracted two dogs a large black one and a young pup and perturbed people feared a log that hates cats yet L. M. Fallis enticed the kitten to safety. A dog in a car seat looked smarter than some people. Two Christmas tree loads went west. Our phone wire was torn down causing talk for another time.

Gail Orde Wins Imperial Esso Prize At Peterborough Plowing

Gail Orde, aged 14 and a Kenner Collegiate student, won her plowing class and the Royal Bank trophy at the Peterborough County event. She then earned the Imperial Esso Special Prize for best plowed land, beating her father Walter Ord in the utility class.
