One dies and five others injured in a head on collision on Highway 115 four miles NW of Millbrook near the quarter line. Mrs George Freelove of Millbrook died later in St Joseph's Hospital Peterborough. Glen Wannamaker of Lakefield is in serious condition with chest and throat injuries. Four Lakefield residents treated as outpatients. two others sent to hospital but not treated. The Dunford car carried Gordon Scriver Galvin Dunford Harold Trude and Roy Kidd all of Lakefield. The crash occurred as H Freelove tried a left turn onto the quarter line. both cars wrecked and glass scattered along 260 feet of highway. Sheriff Fallis first on scene. Nesbitt ambulance transported the injured. Police and OPP co operate in investigation with officers from Millbrook Peterborough and Cobourg detachments.
Mr and Mrs Russell Scott of Toronto were Sunday guests of Mr and Mrs J T Crowley Basil Richards expects to return to work next week after illness Mrs G W Sayles and daughter Mrs M Jelly of Toronto visited with Mrs Wm West Misses Alice and Carol Hawkins visited Mr and Mrs Fred Glanville at Newcastle on Sunday Afternoon Mrs Ted Scott returned home Saturday after hospital stay for an operation Mrs K Papineau and her daughter Yvette with son in law and daughter Mr and Mrs Richard Tashjian of Detroit were here for the funeral of Mrs Papineau's mother Mrs George Freelove The latter returned home Sunday with Mrs Papineau staying in Millbrook until Friday before returning to Detroit
A 90 minute sound film titled Seventeen will be shown at Grace Presbyterian Church Sunday night March 24 at 8 15. The teen oriented story from a high school setting is recommended by the Ontario Department of Education and shown in Peterborough area churches and schools this week. A free will offering will be collected. all are invited.
