Canadian Legion Branch 402 invites veterans to a memorial dinner at Legion Hall Millbrook on April 9 at 7 p.m. in memory of comrades who fought and died at Vimy Ridge. Tickets available at Legion Hall or from Weldon Coulter Dave Fowler and Ron Palmer. Admission 1.25 dollars. Dinner 7 p.m. sharp. Geo Howden pres.
The final progressive euchre of the season will be at the Legion Hall on Thursday April 4 at 8 30 p.m. Sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary to the Canadian Legion, the event is expected to attract a larger crowd. Prize winners from the last event included Ladies first Mrs Herbert Bremner and Ladies second Mrs L Armstrong. Men’s first Mr Fred Challice and Men’s second Mr Milton Challice. A basket of groceries donated by Marshalls Grocery was won by Mrs Geo Raper.
Reeves and Deputy Reeves with their wives of Durham and Northumberland Counties visited the new Millbrook reformatory on Wednesday last. Between 75 and 100 attendees joined a buffet luncheon hosted by architects Barnett and Reider in the administration section. Attendees expressed satisfaction with the institution and their own living arrangements.
Plan now to attend the Progressive Euchre Party to be held in the Orange Hall on Tuesday April 2 at 8 o clock. Prizes and lunch. Admission 35c. A good time for all.

Miss Ida Williams R N of the Northumberland and Durham Health Unit, who will marry Douglas Carveth of Rochester New York, was honored at a Friday night surprise shower in Grace Church Sabbath school hall. Over sixty guests from Toronto Cobourg Campbellford Bethany Bowmanville and Millbrook and district attended. Hostesses were Mrs Lyle Natress and Miss Margaret Robbins. Refreshments were served. Miss Williams moved to Millbrook about two years ago from Timmins Ontario and has made many friends.
Lloyd A. Hooton, appointed Warden of the United Counties of Durham and Northumberland in January, was honored with a March banquet at the Cavan Community Hall. Attendees included ex wardens, Reeves, M.P.s, and local officials from across the counties.
