Millbrook Girls Rally To Tie Bowmaville Series In Bowmanville

Millbrook girls evened their best of three semi final at one game each by beating Bowmaville 9 to 5 in Bowmanville on Monday. Ruby Hudson led with two singles a triple and a homer. Marg Armstifyng and Dorothy Gillis each homered. Edith Carl hit a triple with bases loaded. Mary McDowell turned a double into a four bagger. The third game was in Millbrook last night with a fourth game likely in Bowmaville next Wednesday August 5.

Millbrook Girls Lose First Playoff Game 3 to 2

Bowmanville beat Millbrook 3 to 2 at the meal fairgrounds in the semi finals. Bowmanville scored twice in the second inning on three Millbrook errors and added a fourth inning run while Millbrook failed to score through five. Millbrook rallied with a sixth inning triple by Mary McDowell and a seventh inning run, but fell short as Dorothy Gillis took the loss and K McMurter earned the win. Lynda Hogg starred defensively for Millbrook.
