Manitoba Minority Argues for Remedial School Legislation

Warden Election and Legal Row in Bowmanville

At the county council meeting on Tuesday Mr Prower of Bowmanville was elected Warden. A separate case in Bowmanville involves Freddy Lockhart and S C Cooper over patent right notes issued to secure a salary and agency rights. The trial addressed alleged fraud, with the jury ruling lack of jurisdiction due to Cobourg venue, and a new trial ordered at the March division court in Bowmanville.

Peggy Jacobs relict of Thomas Brown Welcome Port Hope aged 93 born 1805 in Cornwall England united with her husband over sixty years. Husband died May 2 at 90. They moved to Canada 46 years ago lived at Welcome. Funeral held Jan 19 conducted by Rev W C Beer and Rev T R Hull. Survived by brother Samuel Jacobs and daughter Mrs Giles.
