Port Hope Woman Peggy Jacobs Dies at Welcome
Peggy Jacobs relict of Thomas Brown Welcome Port Hope aged 93 born 1805 in Cornwall England united with her husband over sixty years. Husband died May 2 at 90. They moved to Canada 46 years ago lived at Welcome. Funeral held Jan 19 conducted by Rev W C Beer and Rev T R Hull. Survived by brother Samuel Jacobs and daughter Mrs Giles.

After heavy snow storms roads are rolled with a land roller to become passable. If pitch holes or uneven surfaces appear, harrowing is used. This method has been practiced for many years in Quebec.
