The annual meeting of the Daughters of Cav an LOBA 1866 was held December 10 with a turkey banquet hosted by Grace Presbyterian Church Ladies Aid. W.M. Sister Lillian Moore announced R.W. Sister Cora Johnson as Grand Mistress Ontario East. officers were elected and installed, including Violet Farrow as W.M. and Adrienne Kinsman as Fin. Sec. Other names include Eda Northey, Alice Blair, Anna Thompson, Betty Lunn, Jean Kinsman, Violet Fallis, Dorothy Olan Jenior, Wilma Davidson, Mae Allin, Stella Kennedy, Annetta Fallis, and committees led by A. E. Lunn and E. Sexsmith.

Oldest Millbrook resident breaks hip on ice
Mrs. Jane Robinson, 95, Millbrook's oldest resident and longtime subscriber, slipped on the ice at her ver andah last week. She crawled back inside and was taken to Peterborough Civic Hospital, where her condition is reported satisfactory for her age. She is followed in age by Mr. J. C. McRoberts of Peterborough.

New Year Message At St Andrews Church Se sums Pastor Call
On Sunday morning January 4 at St Andrew's a special New Year message was delivered by Rev. J. Arthur Steed of Peterborough who will serve as supply pastor for several months. He announced 24 hour on call availability and gave his address and phone. Funeral for Mrs. Wellington Bateman in Bailieboro
Funeral service for 73 year old Mrs. Wellington Bateman was held Saturday January 3 1958 at Bailieboro United Church after she died in Peterborough Hospital from a stroke. She came to Canada from England 60 years ago and belonged to the church choir and W A. Survived by husband and two children Kathleen Hobbs of Toronto and Arthur Bateman of Norwich Ontario. Pallbearers were William Bateman Alex Watt Ray Eagleson Dawson Rutherford Robert Kelly and George Dean. Flower bearers were Beverley Bateman Kenneth Hobbs William Bateman Jim Fair Ernett Hie and William Bullock.

First Concert Held at Scarlet Villa Town
Scarlet Villa Town Sunday Schl held their first concert Monday December 22 with good attendance. The program included recitations a Christmas exercise and carol. Miss Karen Welbourne won a Bible for best attendance and pupils received memory verse certificates. Santa Claus handed out gifts oranges and candy. Mr Treland chaired.
