Recital of Organ and Choral Music Promises Evening

Prayer Week Observed in Local Churches This Week

The Universal Week of Prayer is under way in local churches. On Monday Jan 5 the service was at St Thomas Church led by Rev Palfrey. Tonight Thursday Jan 8 the 8 pm service is at St Andrew's with Dr Sede from West Africa. Friday Jan 9 the 8 pm Grace Presbyterian Church hosts Rev W Patterson. An offering will go to the Canadian Council of Churches. You are invited to attend both services.

Obituary of Cavan farmer William H Armstrong dies at 79

William H Armstrong a well known Cavan farmer died after a short illness on January 5 1959 at his home Millbrook in his 80th year. He suffered a heart attack and never recovered. Born in Cavan Township son of the late David Armstrong and his wife. Survived by his wife Revetta McMahnn and three daughters Mrs Allie Fallis Mrs Earl Martin and Mrs Gordon Davidson. Also survived by a sister Mrs Charles Thorndyke a brother David Armstrong two foster sons Lawrence Alborn and Tom Armstrong. Funeral held January 7 from J W Had Funeral Home Millbrook at 2 pm with interment at St Pauls Cemetery Cavan Township.
