The annual meeting of LOL 46 Frazerville on December 1 1958 elected officers for 1959 after a chicken supper. Worshipful Master John Waterman outlined past year highlights and all members pledged support for the new Orange Hall project replacing the old one. Officers named include War Master John Waterman Deputy Master Basil Clements Chaplains Melville Morrison Major John Foote Recording Secretary Ray McElroy Treasurer Richard Waugh Financial Sec Mac Bradshaw First Lecturer Harry Cunningham Second Lecturer Donald Dunlop Marshall Willas Cunningham Tyler Jay Whittington. Committees were listed with five members and Trustees Willard Waterman Boyd Hooton and Jay Whittington.
Mrs. Elmer Wright formerly Flossie McIndep a Millbrook resident died in Owen Sound on Friday December 5 1958 and was buried there on Monday December 8 1958. She was a niece of Mr J C McRoberts formerly of South Monaghan now in Peterborough.
About a hundred people gathered December 4 at Millbrook United Church basement for a turkey banquet. Delbert Olan chaired the evening as the Durham County 500 Bushel Potato Club announced 1958 results. Kathleen Homan spoke on her Junior Farmers exchange trip, and Charles Weatherill won the year's top prize a gold watch.
A progressive euchre event will be held Monday December 15 at 8:15 p.m. in the Orange Hall Millbrook under the auspices of L.O.h. No. 79. Good prizes and lunch. Admission 35e. Everyone welcome.
The December meeting of the Women's Institute is set for Friday December 12 at 2 00 pm at the home of Mrs Thomas Barkness. An exchange of gifts will take place.
Progressive euchre event set for December 11 at 8 30 o clock in Carmel L C and S Hall. Lunch served and admission 35 cents. All welcome.
