South Group W A Hold Turkey Dinner at Hall

The South Group of St. Andrew's W A entertained their husbands with a turkey dinner in the Sunday School Hall on December 4. About 60 people attended including five children. Alberta Olan led the arrangements. Mr and Mrs Russell Kennedy shared colour slides from Europe, the West Coast, Boston and Cape Cod and aerial views of Millbrook. Christmas Cheer donations are requested by December 18. Next meeting will be in the New Year led by Mrs. Johnston Rowland.

Mary E Weatherup Dies in Civic Hospital

Mary E Weatherup of Port Hope passed away at Civic Hospital Peterborough last Friday after a lingering illness. A longtime resident of Mr. Ed. Larmer’s home, she raised four boys, aided the less fortunate, and remained active in church missions as a life member of the Mission Circle and WMS of St. Andrew's United Church. Funeral from J. W. Haw Funeral Home Millbrook to Gardiner's Cemetery featured Rev. Chisholm and Rev. Heustin. pallbearers included G H Lancashire and D R Fowler.
