New Relief Plan Inaugurated for Rural Work Centers

A federal relief plan aims to reduce the number of families on relief by establishing rural work centers in Texas. Communities must show at least ten relief-affected families will benefit and provide vacant houses, land, and half the construction costs. Centers would house small manufacturing, provide repairs, and serve as recreation hubs, symbolizing the new deal. The plan follows a survey showing small-town factories boosting farm incomes through local production, home work, and market sales.
