Katherine Griffiths Dies After Operations
Katherine Griffiths fifteen year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Morgan Griffiths of South Milford died at Milford hospital early Wednesday after an appendicitis operation and a second surgery this week. She was a Milford High School freshman loved by friends. Funeral plans not final but likely Sunday. The County Commissioners meet in Beaver today as a Board for Equalization.

Civilian Workers Begin Beaver County CCC Camps
Two groups of 21 civilian conservation workers arrived in Milford for Beaver county camps. Recruits aged 19 to 25, mostly Virginians with Southern accents, were stationed at Union Pacific baseball park before dispersing to a desert camp 45 miles west of Milford and to Beaver canyon. Experienced workers followed Sunday evening from Milford to join the Beaver Camp.

Former Milford businessman dies in Provo
Henry Eyring Bowman a former Milford merchant died Tuesday morning at his son Henry E Bowman Jr s home in Provo after a lingering illness at age 74 He was born February 10 1895 in Salt Lake City and attended Brigham Young Academy He married Mary Gubler in the St George Temple on September 1 1885 Surviving are his widow six sons including State Senator Othello C Bowman and Devereux W Bowman in Kanab Henry E Bowman Jr in Provo Claudius Bowman in Mexico Walremer Bowman in Cedar City Harold J Bowman in Salt Lake City May Beth Bowman in Logan and numerous siblings The Milford News editor David S Williams traveled to Cokeville Wyoming to finalize a newspaper property sale The Milford high school building is undergoing cleaning and redecorating under County Superintendent S M Wittwer.
