Hubbell of Milford is the new member of Beaver county's board of commissioners to fill the unexpired term of R. E. Ellingsworth who resigned to move to Reno Nevada. The appointment was made Tuesday and Hubbell began duties immediately, with supporters predicting energetic and conscientious service for the county.

The Mutual Improvement Association road show presented Tuesday in Milford with local acts from Milford, Minersville, and Beaver wards. The Milford act featured a musical fantasy directed by Mrs. Bruce Walton and performed by Sam Miller, Emum Patterson, and a chorus. Minersville offered a Lazy Bones inspired act and Beaver showcased skits and a hospital piece. The Milford American Legion Auxiliary met with fourteen members for bridge, and Milford mourns the death in Los Angeles of J. Cline, a long-time merchant, with his sons Sam and Harold Cline among surviving heirs.
