Christmas Piano Recital Planned by Mrs. Smith at LDS Church

Students of Mrs. E L Smith will be presented in their annual Christmas piano recital at the LDS Church on Saturday evening December 3. Lexion Auxiliary to Present Variety Show Yes terday

The American Legion Auxiliary will stage the variety show Yesterday at the high school auditorium this Saturday. Curtain falls at 8 p.m. A large cast will perform vaudeville acts band numbers vocal and instrumental numbers and dances. Mrs Mary Long directs the entertainment.

Milford Tigers Open 1965-56 Basketball Season

The Milford High Tigers host South Sevier High School tonight December 1 at 8 pm to begin the season. Tomorrow they face Lincoln County High of Nevada at Milford with many returning lettermen and a strong group of newcomers, promising a bright year ahead.

South Milford 4-H Leader Honored in Salt Lake City

Mrs. Berniece Smith, longtime South Milford 4-H Club leader, was among six Utah Farm Bureau Federation leaders honored at a Salt Lake City banquet. The Beaver County group noted her nine years of service enrolling new members and guiding her club, alongside other local leaders Frieda Wood and Reva Albrecht from Minersville. The Smith family includes three daughters and one son active in 4-H.

Milford Hospital Board Meeting Reports Low Patient Costs

Milford Hospital Board met November 16 at the Methodist Church. Supt. Jackie Williams said Beaver County Hospital costs average $13.72 per day, well below Salt Lake City hospitals at $21. Patients receive about 3.7 hours of nursing care daily. The nursing staff includes two registered nurses, two part time RNs, one licensed practical nurse, and four aides.

Correction clarifies Milford High door security

The Milford High School East entrance is not kept locked, countering a previous report. Custodian Bingham says modern panic locks allow opening from inside and students habitually use the South entrance, while the North-South doors create the draft and cannot be locked to block internal entry.

Nazarene Church Names Rev Sherwood as Daily Preacher

Rev RB Sherwood district Superintendent of the Nazarene Church will fill the local pulpit daily and Sundays from December 4 to 11 preaching at 11 a.m. and 7 30 p.m. on Sundays and 7 30 p.m. on weekdays with scenic slides shown before services. Rev R R Hodge announced the schedule and invited the public to attend.
