New Instructors at Branch College Openings Announced

Branch Agricultural college director Henry Oberhansley announces readiness for fall opening on Monday September 9 with enrollment expected to be the largest in the school's history. Six new faculty replace transfers and resignations as Summer Hatch joins the staff along with H Hun­saker and librarian Miss Marie Tinsley. Lieutenant Charles B. Drake also joins after teaching at the University.

Future Farmers Attend Logan State Meet

Seven South Milford and Milford Future Farmers traveled to Logan for the annual state Future Farmers gathering. Accompanied by LaVell Parsons and Alvin H. Baker, they joined attendees including Secretary of Agriculture Wallace and other notable figures. Worthy Students Offered Part Time Help at Branch College

Eligible students at Branch Agricultural College Cedar City Utah may receive part time wages from federal funds. Allocation equals 12 percent of October 15 1924 enrollment. Applicants must show high academic ability and financial need and apply at the director’s office before the school year begins.

Beav er County School Start Delayed A Week

Beav er County school opening is postponed to September 16 due to bus delivery delays. Readying the coming year teachers will be listed next week. Minersville 4 H clubs hosted a dinner August 1 with county and local guests. They shipped the first full carload of barred Plymouth rocks to Los Angeles.

Milford Plans For Big FFF Day

Milford hosts an all community event on Friday September 6 organized by the South Milford Community club. Residents from Milford and surrounding towns are invited to showcase farm and garden produce in the displays and food sale in the women’s department. The afternoon features horse racing children’s races and other sports with refreshments of ice cream candy hot dogs and lemonade. Ivan McKnight serves as president of the Community club and general committee chair Ellen Gates and Mrs Carl Elmer with Mrs P B Fisher are associate members.

Bakery Reopens in Milford by Hall Family

EF L Hall and E F L with their wives and Baby Hall arrived in Milford Monday to reopen the Milford bakery. They came from Ely Nevada and have prior baking experience in Nevada western Idaho and Washington.

Flower Show Thursday at L D S Church

The American Legion Auxiliary plans a Flower Show and Silver Tea next Thursday September 5 from 2 to 5 PM at the L D S church. Flowers may be brought to the church between 10 and 12 to be placed on display. Awards will be given, with entertainment during the afternoon. Public invited.

Union Pacific introduces stewardess service on the Los Angeles Limited coach and tourist car section.
