Young Farmers Host To Neighbor Clubs
The South Milford chapter of Young Farmers hosted about 60 members from Millard and Beaver counties on Friday August 18 in a District 7 get acquainted tour. The group toured Milford Valley sites including a grain elevator Carl Elmer's alfalfa seed crop deep well pumps Mayer Bros. wheat crop and Potato Marketing Co seed potato enterprise. Lunch was at the South Milford club house prepared by the Milford chapter Young Farmers Wives before continuing to Milnersville and Beaver areas.

Milford chapter of Young Farmers staged a fruit picking trip to Utah's Dixie land to harvest peaches and pears for canning. About 16 couples attended at Morris Dalton's farm on August 17, despite extreme heat. They loaded trucks with roughly 100 bushels for the return journey to Milford.

Obituary: Elmer M. Dias Dies After Truck Crash in Utah
Elmer Marshall Dias of Minersville dies from injuries after a truck crash near Cedar City on a steep grade. Funeral services were held at 2 pm Wednesday at the Minersville LDS Chapel, with bishopric and local ministers leading prayers and musical tributes. Survivors include his widow Effie Hutchings and nine grandchildren, plus four sons and five daughters. His life noted as farmer, stockman, and former county official.
