The autumn quarter starts September 7 for new students and September 13 for former students at Branch Agricultural College. Registration and placement tests occur in week one to match students with suitable courses. A firelight party at Cedar Canyon ranch is planned. Regular classes begin September 14 for all students after orientation week. Late registration fees apply daily. The first quarter ends November 24, winter quarter begins November 29, and a spring vacation is added March 27 between quarters. Commencement is May 24.

Beaver County hosts regional conference of the Republican Federated Women's Club No. 6 on August 12 at the Beaver County Courthouse. Mrs. F. D. Williams presided with community singing by Mrs. Lillian McKnight. Attendees from Beaver, Milford, Minersville and Salt Lake, with Utah leaders present. Lunch at Twist's Cafe followed. Officers elected: Beaver County Club Chairwoman Mrs. Bernice Gilling. Milford chairwoman Mrs. Mae Carter. Beaver chairwoman Mrs. Winnie Puffer. Minersville chairwoman Mrs. Gladys Myers.
Mothers of the Clover 4H club praised their girls at a Tuesday breakfast at the South Milford club house under Mrs. George Smith. Alice Cook and Jennie Sue Smith demonstrated proper table setting and dish washing with a menu of orange flowers eggs muffins and cocoa. Dean Lofthouse won first place for muffin judging and will demonstrate in Minersville on August 28. Several family members attended.
Hiram Lodge No 12 BP A M will host Milford area Masons for their annual fall outing at Upper Telluride in Beaver Canyon on Sunday August 29. Members of the Battery Star and their families and friends are invited to attend bringing a basket lunch. Coffee punch and creamer furnished by the host lodge.

The 9-H Chie exhibit will be held Monday August and August 28 in the county 4H fair. County youths will participate with demonstrations style dress reviews and group exhibits guided by P Wiss Penn Staples and Missuth Farrah. Winners advance to the State Fair with clubs stressing younger members for group displays.
State fish and game board reviewed deer take plans in Lost Creek Weber County Currant Creek Wasatch Duchesne counties and Vernon Grantsville Tooele area. Bucks saved in Tooele appeal and losses in Currant and Lost Creek noted. Fines listed for deer meat possession and license violations with multiple residents fined and jailed.
Mr and Mrs Frank Tribole and daughter Sandy of Tang Beach California arrived Monday morning to visit with his parents Mr and Mrs J F Tribole for a few days. They were joined by Mr and Mrs Osear Horton of Long Beach Mrs Horton is a sister of Mr Tribole and Mr George Moore.
