Militiamen of Company T and the Hospital Corps in Middletown learned their pay checks are on the way from Albany. About 7,090 dollars for 34 days of service will be paid tonight at the State Armory and the bank, with Hospital Corps members paid Wednesday after drill. Company I, 150 men, who served six weeks at Camp Whitman and Peekskill, will be paid at the armory, covering July and August. Drill year 1916-17 begins tonight. 448 drills are required, with forfeiture and fines for missed sessions.

Maybrook Man Severely Injured While Stopping Switching Cars
Maybrook resident Charles Schweinhamer, 31, is in critical condition at Vassar Hospital after an accident on the Central New England railroad yards Sunday. While pursuing two runaway freight cars that were being switched, he climbed onto a car, lost balance, and was struck by wheels, suffering a crushed left thigh, a severed toe, and injuries to his back. A special train was sent to the hospital, and his prognosis is poor. He is married with no family.
